Booking a conference room while managing visitor access at the same time

The booking system inside Appÿ does not work in isolation. When a Sanofi employee reserves a meeting room, the app automatically triggers a notification to the visitor management module. This means that if you have external guests coming, the system already knows they are expected. The visitor registration form pre-fills the room number and time slot. You do not have to enter that information twice. This workflow is not obvious from the Play Store description, but it is how the app actually behaves in real use.

The booking feature itself is straightforward. You open the app, select a date, pick an available room from the map view, and confirm. The system sends a calendar invite to your email. But the visitor management integration is what makes it different. When you add a guest, the app asks for their name, company, and purpose. That information goes directly to the security desk at the Sanofi site. The guest gets a QR code via email. They scan it at the entrance. All of this happens without you leaving the booking screen. The two features are linked in a way that saves about five minutes per meeting.

This combined workflow is the primary reason Sanofi employees keep the app installed. It removes the friction of coordinating room bookings and visitor passes separately. The app also logs every booking and visitor entry in a history tab. That history, however, is where the first major problem appears. Multiple users have reported that the app clears all reservation and visitor records overnight without warning. You open the app the next morning and everything from the previous day is gone. The developer has not acknowledged this specific issue in any changelog.

Comparing the booking workflow with Workplace from Meta

Workplace from Meta offers a similar booking function, but it treats room reservations and visitor management as separate modules. You book a room in one section. You register a visitor in another. The two do not communicate. Appÿ, by contrast, ties them together at the database level. When you book a room, the visitor module gets a flag that says "this room is occupied at this time." That flag prevents double-booking and also tells the visitor system to expect external arrivals.

Workplace from Meta requires you to manually share the room details with your guest. Appÿ does that automatically. The guest receives a confirmation with the room number, floor, and building map. This is a clear advantage for Sanofi employees who host frequent external meetings. However, Workplace from Meta has a more robust notification system. It sends reminders 15 minutes before a meeting. Appÿ does not do that. You have to check the app manually. That is a small but noticeable gap.

Another difference is the way each app handles incident reporting. In Appÿ, you can report a broken projector or a missing chair directly from the booking screen. That report goes to the facilities team. In Workplace from Meta, you have to use a separate channel. Appÿ consolidates everything into one interface. But the trade-off is that the app becomes slower when you have many open tickets. Users have noted that the app lags when the incident list grows beyond 20 items. The developer has not released a fix for this performance issue.

What the changelog actually says versus what users experience

The version history for Appÿ, as published on Google Play, contains only two phrases: "Feature improvements" and "bug fixes." That is the entire changelog for every update since at least version 5.1.5. The APKPure pages confirm this pattern. Version 5.1.5, 5.1.7, and 6.0.1 all list the same generic description. There is no mention of what specific features were improved or which bugs were fixed. This lack of transparency is a consistent complaint among users who follow the updates.

Despite the vague changelog, the app has received at least five major feature additions since 2022, according to the Better Future Awards page. These include Space Management, Visitor Management, and an interactive information module called The Feed. None of these were announced in the Play Store changelog. Users only discover them after updating and exploring the app. This creates a disconnect between what the developer communicates and what the app actually delivers. It also makes it difficult to know whether a specific bug has been addressed in a new version.

The most frequently reported bug — the overnight deletion of reservation history — has never been mentioned in any changelog. Users have posted about it on the App Store review section and on Facebook. The developer has not responded publicly. The current version 6.0.1 still exhibits this behavior, according to recent reviews. Until the changelog includes a specific fix for this issue, users cannot assume it has been resolved. The lack of detailed release notes is a significant limitation for a workplace app that handles scheduling and visitor data.

Using the app to report a broken coffee machine and getting a response within 10 minutes

A niche but practical use case for Appÿ is reporting broken equipment in real time. The incident reporting feature is not just for security issues. Employees use it to report malfunctioning coffee machines, broken printers, or faulty air conditioning. The report goes directly to the facilities team at the specific Sanofi site. In many cases, the team responds within 10 minutes. They confirm receipt and dispatch a technician. This is faster than sending an email or making a phone call. The app also shows the status of your report — whether it is pending, in progress, or resolved.

This use case is not mentioned in the Play Store description. The description focuses on booking and communication. But in practice, incident reporting is one of the most used features. Employees appreciate the transparency. They can see that their report has been acknowledged. They do not have to chase someone for an update. The app also sends a push notification when the issue is resolved. That notification includes a brief note about what was done. This level of detail is rare in workplace apps. It makes Appÿ more than a booking tool — it becomes a facility management assistant.

The downside is that the app does not integrate with the booking system for incident reporting. If you report a broken projector in a meeting room, the app does not automatically block that room from being booked until the issue is fixed. You have to manually check the status or call the facilities team. This is a missed opportunity. The developer could link the two features to prevent users from booking a room with a known issue. That integration does not exist. The app treats incident reports and room bookings as separate data silos. This limitation reduces the overall efficiency that the app promises.
