This is not a consumer GPS app. It is an enterprise fleet management terminal that assumes you already have a contract with Cargo Track Solutions SRL, the Romanian company behind it.
Once you log in, the interface reveals its purpose. The map populates with vehicle icons, each representing a tracked asset somewhere on the road. The app does not ask where you want to go. It asks what you want to monitor. Driver names, vehicle IDs, fuel levels, and tachograph statuses appear alongside the map. The design is utilitarian — dense with data labels and dropdown menus that assume you know what a remote tachograph is and why you would need to download one. For a fleet manager juggling 10 or 50 vehicles, this density is a feature. For anyone else, it is a wall of confusion. In 2025, the CargoTrack platform was targeted by a DDoS attack that temporarily restricted client access. Orange Business and SCUT stabilized the systems within two hours, but the incident exposed a vulnerability in a service that fleets depend on for daily operations. The company responded by allocating 200,000 euros for cybersecurity in 2026. The app's changelog, however, does not acknowledge any of this. It offers a generic reassurance that does not match the scale of the problem it addresses.
For a fleet manager relying on CargoAPP GPS to track vehicles across Romania and Europe, the silence is noticeable. The app works when the platform works. When the platform goes down, the map freezes, and the driver data stops flowing. The changelog does not tell you whether the latest update hardened the app against another attack or simply added a new support chat button. The developer's website lists over 40 modules and accessories, but the app itself feels like a thin client that depends entirely on backend stability. The subscription model locks you in, but the changelog locks you out of knowing what you are actually paying for.
The EcoDriving module and the fuel theft blind spot

A driver with a perfect EcoDriving score might still be burning excessive fuel because of a mechanical issue, a trailer load imbalance, or even theft. The app does not raise an alarm. It simply reports. The manager must manually compare the two reports to spot the anomaly. CargoTrack is reportedly working on an AI solution to detect diesel theft more clearly, but that feature is not in the current version. For now, the app gives you the raw materials and expects you to build the conclusion yourself.
