About Path of Titans

The app opens to a main menu with a single-player option, a multiplayer option, and a community servers tab.

You tap multiplayer, and a list of official servers appears. Each server shows a name, a player count, and a ping indicator. You pick one, and the game loads you into a spawn screen. You choose a dinosaur species from a grid of icons. The grid shows carnivores and herbivores separated by tabs. You tap a species, and a preview model rotates on the screen. You pick a skin color, a pattern, and then you tap spawn. The screen fades to black, and you appear as a hatchling in a random location on the map.

The map is large. The Play Store description mentions two official maps, but the actual game world feels massive. You see grass, trees, rocks, and water. Other players move in the distance. Some are larger than you. Some are smaller. The game gives you a quest marker on the compass. The quest is simple: find a specific location, collect a certain number of items, or deliver something to another point. You start walking. The movement is slow at first. Your stamina bar drains as you run. You stop to regain stamina. A carnivore spots you and starts chasing. You run, but your stamina is low. The carnivore catches up and attacks. You die. You respawn as a hatchling again.

The growth system and the PvP combat create a constant risk-reward loop.

Growth is the primary progression mechanic. You start as a hatchling and work your way to adulthood by completing quests. Each quest gives a set amount of growth. It takes roughly fifty quests to reach adulthood. The quests are repetitive: collect flowers, deliver items, find locations. They are not engaging on their own. The engagement comes from the risk of being attacked while doing them. Other players can kill you at any time. If you die, you lose some growth progress. You do not lose all of it, but you lose enough to set you back. This creates a tension: do you take a risky route to complete a quest faster, or do you take a safer, longer route? The game does not explain this trade-off. Players learn it through repeated deaths.

The combat system is simple but punishing. Each dinosaur has a set of abilities: bite, claw, tail swipe, and sometimes a special ability like a charge or a roar. Abilities have cooldowns. Combat is about timing and positioning. A larger dinosaur has more health and deals more damage, but it is slower and has less stamina. A smaller dinosaur is faster and more agile but has less health. The combat is not balanced. Some species are objectively better than others. The community frequently debates balance changes on the feedback board. One player with over 4000 hours noted that "one good change was offset by multiple heavy nerfs, making the combat flow worse instead of better".

The modding community adds a layer of content that the base game does not provide.

The game supports mods. You can browse and install mods from the main menu. Mods include new dinosaurs, new maps, new skins, and new game modes. The modding kit is powerful. Players have created entire new ecosystems. The mods are community-driven. Some are high quality. Some are not. The game does not curate mods. You install them at your own risk. Mods can cause crashes. They can also break after updates. The developer, Alderon Games, provides modding tools but does not officially support mods. The community servers often run modded content. These servers have custom rules, passive growth, and modified stats. The official servers do not allow mods. You must choose between the official experience and the modded experience.

The cross-platform play is one of the game's strongest features. You can play on Android, iOS, PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. All platforms connect to the same servers. Your progress carries over across platforms. You buy a dinosaur skin on Android, and it appears on PC. This is rare for a mobile game. The cross-play works seamlessly in practice. The server browser shows players from all platforms. The matchmaking is fast. The game does not separate players by platform. This creates a large, active player base. The downside is that mobile players face PC players who have better controls and higher frame rates. The game does not offer input-based matchmaking.

The version history shows regular updates but vague changelogs.

The Play Store changelog for the latest version says "Bug Fixes & Performance Improvements". This is the same message for almost every update. The actual updates are more substantial. The developer releases major patches every few months. The Riparia update added a new coastal map, new dinosaurs, and new quests. The Night Stalker update added night-time gameplay with new abilities. The updates are announced on the developer's website and on social media. The in-game changelog does not provide details. You have to visit the website to see what changed. This is a common complaint among players. They want to know what was fixed without leaving the game.

The app size varies by version and platform. The Android APK is approximately 190-300 MB. The iOS app is larger, around 2.37 GB. The Nintendo Switch version is 6.9 GB. The size difference reflects the assets required for each platform. The Android version is optimized for mobile devices. It has lower-resolution textures and simpler models. The PC version has high-resolution assets. The game requires Android 10.0 or higher for the latest versions. Older versions support Android 8.0. The minimum RAM requirement is 4 GB. Devices with less than 4 GB will run the game poorly or not at all. One user noted that "under 4GB ram it will run very badly, under 3GB you can't start the game".

The permissions required are minimal, but the app collects personal information.

The app requests storage access to save game data. It does not request location, camera, or microphone permissions. The privacy policy states that the app collects personal information, app activity, and device IDs. This data is shared with third parties for advertising and analytics. The data is encrypted in transit. The developer states that users can request data deletion. The privacy policy is available on the Play Store page. The app does not have a separate privacy policy in the app itself. You have to visit the Play Store to read it.
