About Tuition Class & School Manager

Open the app for the first time and you are looking at a blank student list. No data, no demo, no onboarding tour — just an empty screen with a plus button. That is the reality of Tufee. It expects you to know exactly what you want to do next. For a private tutor in Rajkot or a coaching centre owner in Delhi, that first moment is not a welcome screen. It is a starting line. The app stores everything locally on the device, so no internet connection is required to function. That means no cloud sync happening in the background, no automatic backups, no push notifications until you set them up. What you get is a blank canvas and a long list of modules: Student Management, Batch Management, Attendance, Fee Management, Exam, Student Report, ID Card Generator, SMS Student, Birthday Reminder, Staff Management, and a whole analytics section. The question is not whether the app can do it all. The question is whether you are willing to build your entire institute's data structure from scratch, manually, one student at a time.

Start with a student. Enter the name, assign them to a batch, record their first fee payment, mark their first attendance. The app does not ask for an email or a phone number during setup — those fields are there, but they are optional. The critical piece is the batch. Every student must belong to a batch. You create a batch, give it a name, set the order in which it appears, and then you add students to it. This is not a school management system where classes are pre-defined. This is a tuition management system where you define every group, every section, every fee structure, every exam schedule. The app gives you 25 different actions at this point, and each one requires data. The ID card generator, for example, pulls from the student profile you just filled. The SMS fee receipt function pulls from the fee records you entered. Nothing is automated until you enter the data. That is the trade-off: total control in exchange for total data entry responsibility.

How the Offline Storage and Cloud Backup Work Together

This is where Tufee separates itself from every other tuition management app on the Play Store. The app stores all data locally on the mobile device. That means attendance records, fee histories, exam marks, student profiles — everything lives on the phone's internal storage. No internet required to open the app, to mark attendance, to record a fee payment, to generate an ID card. You can run an entire coaching institute from a village with zero network coverage. But that local-only model creates a risk: lose the phone, lose the data. So the app includes a backup and restore function that allows data to be saved from the app and transferred to another device, ensuring continuity without any loss of data when you change devices. The backup can be saved locally or on the cloud. This creates a hybrid workflow: you operate offline 99% of the time, and once a day or once a week, you manually trigger a cloud backup. The app does not do it automatically. It does not sync in real time. That is a deliberate design choice, not a missing feature. It keeps the app lightweight, fast, and independent of network conditions.

Fee Management and SMS Communication Compared to Competitors

Compare this to ClassMitra or ClassFast, two named alternatives that also target the Indian tuition market. ClassMitra offers push alerts, call/SMS/WhatsApp options, and import/export data. ClassFast automates monthly tuition calculation. Tufee does something different: it sends fee receipts via SMS directly from the app using the stored mobile numbers of the students. That is not a cloud-based email system. That is a direct SMS sent from the device, which means the tutor needs an active cellular connection to send the message, but the data itself does not need to be in the cloud. The app also enables the tutor to send any message to a single or multiple students at the same time — a fee payment reminder, for example. The competitor apps rely on push notifications that require the parent app to be installed and notifications to be enabled. Tufee's SMS approach works on any phone, even feature phones, because it uses the cellular network. That is a significant advantage for a market where not every parent has a smartphone or keeps notifications enabled.

What the Changelog Actually Reveals About the App's Development

The most recent update, as of August 2026, includes three specific changes that tell you a lot about how this app is being built. First, the exam marks screen can now be filtered by section, so you only see the students you are marking. That sounds small, but for a tutor with 200 students across 10 batches, scrolling through an unfiltered list every day is a productivity killer. Second, the app now remembers your sorting preference — Name or Roll No. — across attendance, homework, exam marks, and the student list. That consistency reduces friction. Third, the developer fixed crashes on the students list, the exam screen, and on startup on older Android phones. That last point is critical: the app is being maintained for older Android devices, not just the latest flagships. The changelog also mentions that feature requests that have been shipped move to their own tab, and your vote comes back when a request ships so you can vote again. That suggests an active feedback loop between users and the developer, even if the developer has acknowledged difficulty in contacting users directly without a phone number.

The Real-World Performance: Bugs, Crashes, and What Works

User reviews paint a mixed picture. One user, Viraaj Kashyap, called it "very good scope plus" and said it is "very simple amd easy to use". Another user, MANISH JAIN, praised the "very easy user interface". But Prashant Thakre reported a more serious issue: "Backwas app file formate hi support nhi karta waste of money" — the app does not support the file format, and it was a waste of money. The developer responded, saying they sent multiple emails but got no response, and without a contact number they were helpless. That exchange highlights a real limitation: the app's support model relies on the user reaching out, and if the user does not provide a phone number, the developer cannot follow up. The app provides online help and WhatsApp contact for any issue, but that requires the user to initiate contact. The crashes that were fixed in the latest update — on the students list, the exam screen, and startup on older Android phones — suggest that stability has been an ongoing concern. The app supports more than 25 actions, and with that many features, bugs are inevitable. The question is whether the developer can keep up with the fixes.

The attendance module works batch-wise. You mark daily attendance batch-wise in seconds. The app records full attendance history for every student. The leave management feature allows students and staff to apply for leave, and the tutor approves in one tap. Attendance reports and alerts are sent to parents. That is a complete attendance system. But it all depends on the tutor actually marking attendance every day. There is no automatic check-in, no geofencing, no QR code scanning. It is manual data entry. For a small tuition class with 20 students, that is fine. For a coaching institute with 500 students across 20 batches, that is a significant daily time investment. The analytics section includes attendance status, profit and loss, fees status, earning reports, and expense reports. That data is only as accurate as the data entered. The app does not generate insights on its own — it presents what you put in. That is honest, but it is also a limitation for users who expect automation.
